Bicycle Paint Protection Film

Bicycle paint protection film in Marietta, OH

Maintaining your bicycle's paintwork. Clear film on the spots a trail and a shoe will find first, installed at 2nd and Greene.

A frame takes more punishment than its paint was made for

Trail rock chips the down tube, cables rub through the head tube, and a shoe scuffs the chainstay every time the bike leans on a wall. Clear paint protection film goes on those critical areas to stop minor rock chips and abrasions before they reach the paint.

Ben puts film on bikes at the shop at 2nd and Greene, and the menu is simple: frame film, fork film and a coating, priced up front. The black Specialized on the blue kerb above is the kind of bike that comes through the door.

Ceramic washes easier, film stops chips

The two are not the same job. Iridescent's bicycle ceramic coating is an automotive grade product that is very hydrophobic, so a wash goes faster, but it does not protect against rock chips or abrasions.

For real protection, film is the answer. The ceramic coating can go over the film afterward, which gives a frame both: chips stopped underneath, easy cleaning on top.

Pick the kit that suits you. Iridescent can order the kit and install it, or install a frame or fork kit you have already bought from InvisiFRAME or RideWrap. Some years and models are not available, so call (740) 525-0964 before you order anything.

The $25 that goes back to the trail

For every full bike PPF install, Iridescent donates $25 to the River Valley Mountain Bike Association, RVMBA. It is the shop's way of giving something back to the riders around Marietta.

The film protects your frame. The donation goes to the local mountain bike community that keeps the riding worth protecting it for.
