Maintenance, Preferred or Enhanced: Choosing an Interior Detail
The right interior package depends on how hard the car is used, and the shop sorts them that way.

Interior detailing is easy to under-order or over-order. Book the lightest package for a cabin that's carried a dog and a gravel driveway for two years, and you'll be disappointed. Book the heaviest for a car that barely leaves the garage, and you've paid for hours of work the interior didn't need. Iridescent Fine Detailing sorts its three interior packages by how the vehicle is used, which makes picking one simpler than it sounds.
Maintenance Interior: the light, regular clean
The Maintenance Interior is built for vehicles that are minimally driven. It starts at $45 and takes about one to two hours. Starting prices here and below are for a 2 Door Sport Coupe or Hatchback.
The work is focused and quick: vacuum the floors and trunk, vacuum cloth seats, wipe down leather seats, dust all interior surfaces and clean the interior glass. It's the right call for a weekend car, a garaged classic or a vehicle you want to keep fresh between bigger details. Note what it leaves out. Floor mats aren't listed, and neither are the vents, console crevices or trim, so a cabin that's already grimy needs a bigger package.
Preferred Interior: the daily driver reset
The Preferred Interior is meant for vehicles driven on a daily basis. It starts at $150 and runs six to eight hours. It covers everything in the Maintenance package and goes considerably further:
- Vacuum floors, trunk area and cloth seats, and wipe down vinyl or plastic floor mats.
- Wipe down leather seats and dust all interior surfaces.
- Compressed air to blow out cracks, vents and seams.
- Clean the console, cup holders, crevices and vents.
- Clean the dash with UV protection, plus all interior trim and plastics.
- Clean and condition door panels and pockets, and spot clean small stains, two at most.
The compressed air step is one people notice later. Crumbs and dust live in seat seams and vent slats where a vacuum can't reach, and blowing them out before wiping keeps them from settling back on a clean dash.
Enhanced Interior: for the car that's been through a lot
The Enhanced Interior is the heavy-use package. It starts at $245 and the turnaround is eight to ten hours at minimum. It includes the Preferred work and adds the deeper steps:
Cloth floor mats get shampooed instead of only wiped. Leather seats get a deep clean and conditioning, and a protective treatment goes on the leather and vinyl. This is the tier for a family vehicle or work truck with ground-in dirt, spills in the carpet, or leather that's gone dry from sun and use. Pet hair and seasonal pollen are classic reasons to step up, since both work their way into fabric and seams and take time to pull out properly. The small-stain allowance is still two, so a long list of stains is a conversation to have up front.
Stains, odors and honest expectations
The shop's approach is to try to remove every stain and odor, with the result depending on how severe and how old each one is. Deep-set problems may need additional treatment, and some stains don't fully lift. Ask before booking, and mention particular spots when you drop the car off. Hearing a realistic answer beforehand is better than finding out at pickup.
If air quality is part of why you want the detail, the shop also offers to install a new cabin air filter, which pairs well with a vent and seam cleaning.
Safe for kids and pets, and how to prep
The shop uses non-toxic cleaning products that are safe for kids and pets, which matters when the back seat is where a toddler's car seat or a dog's blanket lives.
Before drop-off, take out your personal belongings: clothing, accessories, and anything of value. Check under the seats and in the door pockets, the glove box and the center console. Removing things lets the detailer reach every surface, and it keeps your belongings from going missing or getting damaged in the process. If you have child seats, mention them so they're handled with care.
Choosing a tier, and getting the car there
A simple rule works for most people. If the car is barely driven and basically clean, take Maintenance. If it's your everyday vehicle, Preferred is built for that. If it's been a few years, or the car has hauled kids, dogs, tools or mud, Enhanced does the work the others skip.
Ben Sewell offers complimentary pick-up and drop-off within a 5-mile radius of the shop, so a full day of work doesn't have to mean a day without your car at work. Call (740) 525-0964, or book through the shop at 200 Greene Street, Suite B, in downtown Marietta.
